First Edition “Sofa Underground San Francisco”

We are very proud to announce this Micro Art & Music Festival has landed in San Francisco with a very special first show in ATA Gallery. We will enjoy in this first edition a very international varied proposal with Le Parody, USA TOUR in California, she will share this special stage with two local musicians,
Adam Balbo based in Oakland and David Starlight from San Francisco and the amazing  photograph Hanna Quevedo with a 35mm projection show Le Parody´s songs, there is no principal element that imposes upon the rest. Like in recipes that call for a slow cooked stew, the multiple layers are incorporated and savored in the precise moment. Invented folk melodies, electro-pop beats, toy glitches. Nevertheless, all of her pieces have a reoccurring presence, which is Sole´s voice. A voice often compared to latin-american classic folk singers like Lila Downs, but stained with Andalucian, Californian,
and even Asian accents.

ADAM BALBO (Oakland)
He comes across for all the world as an exiled New York anti-folker. His music settles slap bang in the middle of territory most well known for the likes of Jeffrey Lewis and Lach… He can be wry, witty, cynical, self-deprecating and awkward all within the space of a line or

DAVID STARLIGHT (San Francisco) Is a vagabond troubadour who keeps his heart tethered to the wind. He sings in the world. He is a ragged street poet forever entranced and attuned to the dance between sky and sea. He is a true 21st Century North American folk artist who keeps his ears to the ground

HANNA QUEVEDO (San Francisco)
This amazing Analog Photographer brings us her last artwork in a projection 35mm projection Show : “A walk through India”
“The photographs of Hanna Quevedo are completely magnetic. In equal parts they are intriguing, evocative, emotionally connecting and ultimately thoroughly engaging. Hanna sees the world she inhabits as a keen observer. Her ability to move through externals to the heart of her subject is strong and direct. It is through her distinct observations that she uncovers the unusual amidst the ordinary. Her sensitivity to her surroundings, both physical and personal are evident in the way in which she sees. Observation and engagement coexist in all of Hanna’s photographs.
