Alex Itin is a New York-based filmmaker, writer, performance artist, and painter whose work has shown alongside that of abstract expressionist masters Willem DeKooning and Yves Kline, and has been featured in international publications like Vogue and Elle. Alex’s POLYETHELENE BAG was a favorite of DFF09, and his ORSON WHALES was selected for this year’s competitive shorts program. The DFF is proud to spotlight him at this special event at ATA.

Disposable Film Festival Artist Spotlight: Ben Slotover & Peter Waldeck
No stranger to the DFF (he was part of our 2009 competitive shorts) Ben (or Jim, his alter ego) is accompanied by Peter, his partner in crime (Heinz), in a combination film/live performance extravaganza, detailing their travels to the future, time spent with a giant robot named Zantrox, and what it would be like if the video game Monkey Ball was actually real life. Trust us, this program’s a blast.

Red Bucket Films was born out of the curiosity and optimism that spilled when Josh and Benny Safdie met Alex Kalman in highschool. The three split up for college and found more friends – Sam Lisenco, Brett Jutkiewicz, Lola Sinreich, Zachary Treitz, and other souls who sometimes make up our motley crew of thinkers and doers. We push each others visions around. Red Bucket Films believes in poetic stumbles on those streets that we walk.
BUTTONS, VOL. 2 is the follow-up to their first feature length disposable film, which reveals the poetry that exists everywhere if you know where to look.
