Artists’ Television Access is a San Francisco-based, artist-run, non-profit organization that cultivates and promotes culturally-aware, underground media and experimental art. We provide an accessible screening venue and gallery for the presentation of programmed and guest-curated screenings, exhibitions, performances, workshops and events. We believe in fostering a supportive community for the exhibition of innovative art and the exchange of non-conformist ideas.

Internationally Award-Winning In the Shadow of the Palms – Iraq, the only documentary filmed in Iraq prior to, during and after the U.S. invasion. Join us for an introduction and update by Richard Becker of the ANSWER Coalition on the war in Iraq and the role of the anti-war movement.

The feature length documentary film on the Iraq war, In the Shadow of the Palms – Iraq, has been described as a humane and profoundly authentic portrayal of the struggles of the people of Iraq through this tumultuous war. The film documents the lives of ordinary people preparing for the war in the months leading up to the invasion and shows the brutal and indiscriminant shock and awe bombing of Baghdad. The filmmaker returns to document how the peoples lives have changed under the US-led occupation. 2005, 90 min.
