Description: In Celebration of their first full length album, The Yellow Dress and ATA present an evening of music, videos, literature, and unending joy
The Yellow Dress: The official house band of www.therumpus.net, The Yellow Dress sprung to life in late 2007 with a series of songs about(respectively) the tragic death of Tatiana the tiger, a dogfish shark named Gus, and an invasive owl. While their songs have grown less animal themed in nature, their sense of whimsy is fully intact. The group consists of guitar, bass, drums, glockenspiel, and male/female vocals, and have been known to also include ukulele, stand up bass, pedal steel guitar, accordian, trumpet noises, banjos, and whistles. www.myspace.com/theyellowdress
Foxtails Brigade:Porcelain is how their friend Uni, the one with the ukulele, dubs their unmatched sound. Shes right: the pretty melodies and flower-strewn stories conjure memories of playing dress-up in vintage finery. Yet a sharp, almost violent edge is ever present, saving the music from sugary sweet, indie-folk doldrums. SF Bay Guardian
