Mute dictators. Talking nutcrackers. Wacky hijinks and high drama. Simply put, “Castro’s Castle” is an episodic fantasia that dares to ask, “What if a young, mute Fidel Castro moved to modern-day Los Angeles with only his talking nutcracker friends to help him?” Oh, and “What if the lead nutcracker, a psychotic-yet-endearing block of wood named Shanta, hosted his own public-access interview show and berated a steady stream of starlets and grumpy variety performers to no apparent end?” This season, Fidel has finally run out of money, and has 7 days to make rent, or be evicted onto the cold, hard streets of America. While Castro pounds the pavement (and makes some unlikely career choices), the nutcrackers have no choice but to take matters into their own hands… they will band together and put on a variety show to save their “castle.” Live the legend at www.castros-castle.com.
