RECALIBRATION PARTY

The Unnamed Footage Festival Recalibration Party returns to the ATA to kick off the 7th year of the film festival with HUNTING FOR THE HAG, SPIRAL TO THE CENTER, and the annual DON’T STOP RECORDING POWER HOUR!

7:00PM — HUNTING FOR THE HAG (2023, USA, 85m, Directed by Paul A. Brooks)
Tara (Jasmine Williams), a young filmmaker, sets out with two friends Beth (Alexa Maris) and Candy (Co-writer and producer Sierra Renfro) to film a documentary in the woods of central Illinois about a mysterious legend known as The Hawthorne Hag. Tara plans to capture The Hag on camera for the first time in known history —  but within this forest, things may not be as they seem. Hunting For The Hag manages to be a found footage thriller, a cryptid flick, a psychological horror film, and fun as hell all at the same time. As explosive as it is unsettling, there’s no better way to kick off a nonstop weekend of found footage horror than going Hunting for the Hag with UFF. — Q&A with writer/director Paul A. Brooks, writer/star Sierra Renfro, and producer Seth Chromick.
Screening with:
SPIRAL TO THE CENTER (2023, UK, 29m, Directed by Alisa Stern, Scott Ampleford)
Rick reviews records and talks about music online. After his reaction to a strange record goes viral, a documentary filmmaker follows Rick down the rabbit hole where he uncovers twelve albums, a record label that disappeared in the 70s, and a dark secret.
9:00PM — DON’T STOP RECORDING 3: “SENSORY OVERLOAD” POWER HOUR (2024, USA, 60m)
Compiled by the UFF Organizers
Listen up, fiends: it’s year 7 of UFF, year 5 of the Recalibration Party, year 3 of the Power Hour, and with all those odd numbers, I think it’s time to get extra weird. This year the Don’t Stop Recording Power Hour is going to explode your eyes and your brain from complete and utter sensory overload – 60 minute-long clips of found footage horror, faux reality, social media, and other in-world camera insanity. You watch the clip, you drink, the next clip plays, you drink again, repeat till you see stars. You won’t know where or who you are by the end of this. I don’t know where I am right now. We’re getting stupid, baby.

The power hour will be hosted by horror influencer Terrell Trotty, with complimentary beer donated by Lime Ventures, booze from our sponsors, and a selection of mixers and NA beverages from Q Mixers. Get tickets and more info at www.unnamedfootagefestival.com
