In the video, the well-known musical triptych Trois Gymnopédies by Erik Satie is used as the backdrop for the American rodeo. By weaving the slow motion imagery with the meditative piano music, the rodeo becomes a gracious dance with monumental characters. The three subtle musical variations in Saties composition highlight the three different categories within the rodeo competition. With straw bales as scented props, the stage is set for a “cowboys’ ballet performance” framed in the old fashion Western trade cards designs.
The San Francisco UX Book Club’s second meeting, hosted by Artists’ Television Access, will focus on Sketching User Experiences, Part I: Design as Dreamcatcher. (To ensure that everyone can participate, we’ll only be discussing the first half of the book in April. Part II will be discussed during the May meeting.) Al Abut will be moderating the discussion.
