  • OpenScreening

ATA’openscreening.jpeg.pagespeed.ce.NgD79VABiRs Open Screening is the only monthly open submissions screening in the Bay Area. Get your work out there!

Open Screening is where we invite local filmmakers to show their short subject films (under 15 mins.). It is a free event and you can either screen a film or just be a member of the audience. Either way it is FREE. It is a great place to network, if you are a filmmaker, crew member, actor or a fan of local films. Please let us know if you would like to screen something. We love films and would love to see yours.

Submissions: Label all tapes w/ name, contact, title and length. Mail to: Open Screening, 992 Valencia, SF, 94110.  1-2 weeks advance submissions strongly recommended. If not, just walk in before the show. Maximum length: 15 min. Formats: Digital File (PC or Mac),  DVD, miniDV/DV-cam, VHS, beta, 8mm and 16mm. For 8mm and 16mm films give us advance notice.

    Door opens at 7

  • Zoë Leonard (Opening Reception)

Zoë Leonard is interested in the function of memory, the cultural codification of space into place, the naturalization of construct into Truth, how and why meaning deteriorates, and how the body navigates the ideological landscape. A long time Mission resident, she has shown work at the Little Roxie and ATA, helped start Thrillhouse Records, and played many shows at the 16th Street Station.

  • BFF.fm Window Gallery

BFF.fm – Best Frequencies Forever is a community radio station broadcasting online from the heart of San Francisco’s Mission District. Together, 112 volunteer DJs produce 158 hours of original programming every week, bringing the Bay Area music scene to the world through the magic of Internet radio.

For our ATA installation, we imagined a strange laboratory where the central elements of BFF.fm- music, community, and art- are a creative goo that oozes out of everything we do to generate the electricity that powers our station
