    Free

Open Screening is where we invite local filmmakers to show their short subject films (under 15 mins.). It is a free event and you can either screen a film or just be a member of the audience. Either way it is FREE. It is a great place to network, if you are a filmmaker, crew member, actor or a fan of local films. Please let us know if you would like to screen something. We love films and would love to see yours.

Submissions: Label all tapes w/ name, contact, title and length. Mail to: Open Screening, 992 Valencia, SF, 94110.  1-2 weeks advance submissions strongly recommended. If not, just walk in before the show. Maximum length: 15 min. Formats: Digital File (PC or Mac),  DVD, miniDV/DV-cam, VHS, beta, 8mm and 16mm. For 8mm and 16mm films give us advance notice.

  • Chelsea Smith – Anonymous Bosch

    Opening Reception: June 11th, 6:30-9PM

Anonymous Bosch is an installation exploring the connection and duality between genesis and annihilation. This is part of my reimagining of Bosch and multiple visions of another time, another reality.

The work from this show comes from the detritus of:
The Garden of Earthly Delights, Hieronymus Bosch
Science fiction (Octavia Butler, Roadside Picnic, Annihilation)
    Hildegard’s visions in 1141 Germany
    The 1906 San Francisco earthquake
Saint Patrick driving the snakes from Ireland
    1960s UFO stories
    Egyptomania
    Urban dogman legends
The snakes of the Ozarks (Black Rats, Cottonmouths, Copperheads)
Country songs (Doug Kershaw, Merle Haggard, Tom T Hall)
    The London fire of 1666
    The Dyatlov Pass incident

  • In Your Skin Photos by Thomas Tran and Anya Kamenskaya

In your skin is where you start.
In your skin is an outward expression of an inner longing for closeness.
In your skin we knit the surface of the city with what goes on behind its doors.
In your skin is where we meet.
