caution 2-1OUT WITH DROUGHT “Matters of Water” properly re-titled “Matters of Life (and Water) returns for World Water Day 2015 (3/22) with a tsunami of film and video demonstrating the importance, meaning, and value of water to human life.
As our blue Earth ball turns in space and life-giving H20 evaporates off its ever-heating surface, ATA is proud to present a selection of work from around the world which examines the raw effects of the Anthropocene or celebrates water’s enduring qualities. Pieces from Hot Water: Water, War and Peace exhibition at Balance-Unbalance: Water, Climate and Place/Reimagining Environments 2015 Conference (Arizona State University/Electronic Arts Experimental and Research Centre/National University of Tres de Febrero) including Detroit Water Brigade, Vanautu Women’s’ Water Music (disaster donation information available!!!), World Water Fund’s Women and Water, Fragmentos de observación by Montserrat Rodríguez, Tracey Benson’s Aeotaroa Wai: Words for Water, Marisa Allan’s Weeping Medusa (homage to Ralph Steiner), Oksana Chepelyk’s COLLIDER_100: Kyiv 2014, Molly H./Simon Cox’s The Litter from War and Commerce Makes Homes for Small Fish, and much more. With possible late-night rain dance, divining rods, and bar.
