Arcade Fire are literally on fire these days and deservedly so—it’s been a phenomenal year for the band in so many ways with The Suburbs riding high in the charts and on a wide range of Top 10s, collaborations with Terry Gilliam and Spike Jonze, the HTML 5 interactive short film, a recent packed-out world tour plus they’re in the running for three of and performing at the Grammy’s.
It’s also an excellent time to look back on the journey and process that have brought the band up to where they are today in so many diverse ways. Miroir Noir – Neon Bible Archives, directed by maverick filmmaker Vincent Morisset, and shot by Vincent Moon, takes an intimate behind the scenes look at Arcade Fire through the making of and tour of their magnificent 2007 album Neon Bible. Its combined home movie style, actual voiceovers from the Neon Bible promo hotline at the time, and dynamic concert footage all make for a wonderful experience and insight into Arcade Fire’s ever evolving world.
