This topical crime drama centers on the hardscrabble lives of two undocumented Mexican immigrants driven to the edge by the constant exploitation and humiliation they’re forced to endure in their new country. Fed up with the mistreatment, Jesus (Jesús Moisés Rodríguez) and Fausto (Rubén Sosa) decide to exact a little revenge by invading the home of an unsuspecting housewife and taking her hostage.
The film was part of the official selection in Cannes 2008, and Escalante’s highly anticipated new film “Heli” is expected to show in Cannes 2011.
