passion of Joan

Trash Fish Entertainment and Artists Television Access are proud to present THE PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC with a beautiful new score for solo guitar, performed live by LESTER “TOMBSTONE” RAWW of THE PINE BOX BOYS and THE ZAG MEN.

Presumed lost for fifty years – until a second-generation print was discovered in a storeroom in a Norwegian mental institution – Carl Th. Dreyer’s THE PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC is perhaps the most disturbing, and undoubtedly the greatest, religious film ever made.  A profound influence on generations of filmmakers, both great (Ken Russell) and small (Lars von Trier), Dreyer’s silent classic focuses with unrelenting intensity on the suffering visage of the French martyr, unforgettably embodied by Renee Falconetti (in a performance that Pauline Kael called the “greatest of all time”), as she faces a monstrous tribunal of hypocritical clergy.
