Utilizing evocative color saturation and image mutation, Gault’s optically printed films reveal psychosomatic illnesses of American culture. Including :

PICTURE #4 (’93, 6m) “a wry appropriation from his psychotherapist’s Thematic Apperception Test”-Village Voice.
HOUSESITTING (’99, 16m), whose “drift of images pulls the viewer along at a phantomlike remove from personal and cultural connection”-L.A. Weekly.
NOT TOO MUCH REMEMBER (‘04,11m) “at once sublime and frightening, this found footage masterpiece illustrates the perverse means by which narrative shapes our consciousness”-Slant Magazine.

Gault, who will be present for Q&A, creates “a cinematic poetry of paranoia as a higher state of consciousness”-Film Threat.
