The Super 8 Militia is an organization for those urban guerrilla filmmakers of the Bay Area looking to shoot on the small film gauge. The process of making a movie is a team effort. The members of the militia want to help you achieve your artistic goals. Working on celluloid within a modest budget is always a challenge. We strive to help you meet this challenge of finding the right arsenal for your cinematic needs. Headquartered at ATA, meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm. Please contact [email protected] for any questions concerning the telecine process, or if you are interested in transferring your super 8 film. The 2005 Bayennale is slated to take place in over 40 venues throughout the Bay Area July 22- August 7, 2005. The festival was instigated by California artist Lowell Darling and London artist Bill Allen, and has been organized by a volunteer committee comprised of Port of Oakland Public Art Committee (PAC) coordinator Geoff Dorn, PAC members Gregory Wiley Edwards, Jen Loy and Juan Carlos Quintana, BorderZone Arts’ Tressa Berman, and Oakland Cultural Affairs Commissioner Devin Satterfield, under the direction of Elisabeth Beaird.
