Candy Apple

K.Laitala's S.F.A.I. Optical Techniques for Film Class project (Spring 2007) - 2007, 3 min, 16mm, San Francisco, CA, USA

"Candy Apples" is a film that lyrically plays with the medium using different re-photography and hand made film techniques. Much of the source material that students re-worked was glorious 35mm, so the surface area gave much more room for creative development. The optical printer, photogram techniques, hand processing and rear screen were all harnessed to allow for direct intervention and multiple layers.

K.Laitala's S.F.A.I. Optical Techniques for Film Class project (Spring 2007) was created by Nizhoni Ellenwood, Brad Hoffarth, Paris Mancini, Jacob Sperber, Lauren Steele. The Teacher's assistant was Vanessa O'Neil. Original Soundtrack by Neal Johnson.
