Steve Martin on the Loose

'Starring' Steve Martin, his twin brother, Mary Steenburgen and a sea monster, this animation is a comedic look at how our mind uses dreaming as a way to digest reality.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the year the Phillies won the World Series, Rebecca Whipple is a draftsman, painter and animator. Recent projects include the animation of dreams and a series of miniature paintings documenting the ‘War on Terror’.

In her animation work, Whipple has combined her painting talent with her rusty-but-functioning computer skills to develop a process split between hand and computer. Having her cake and eating it too, she now straddles the borders between new and old, fast and slow, handcraft and technology.
