Bayennale opening Gala

bayennale promo image

From July 22-August 7, 2005, the San Francisco Bay Area will play host to artists from all over the world who will come to participate in the first ever Bayennale, Bay Area International Art Festival. Modelled after the bienniales held in London and Berlin, the Bayennale is an artist-fueled event coordinated by artists, under the direction of Elisabeth Beaird and sponsored by the Port of Oakland.

ATA will hold an opening night reception on Friday, July 22nd to celebrate the  festival with Artur Muradyan  presenting his  interactive video installation "Day of Poetry",  a collaboration with Tatiana Antoshina .

Talks, Script: Matt Godfrey

This video installation reflects female perspectives on sex through a series of conversations between three women. Each one of the four conversations explores frank sexual ideas, attitudes, practices and preferences between three girlfriends in everyday situations, yet the pieces were all written by a man. There are no images accompanying the conversations to enhance the gap experienced between what is written and what is said. Voices: Beatrice Catanzaro, Catha Knuth, Patricia Craveiro Lopes.

Dj Norman  will be spining  fat tunes.
