EARTH DAY FILM FESTIVAL

earth-day-film-5-with-whiteAn extensive selection of short films  being presented at Artist’s Television Access on the Bay area 1st  Earth Day Film Festival in conjunction with their partner organization ‘San Francisco Earth Day Festival’ – now in their 45th year.

Earth Day Film Festival will provide a space for San Franciscans to learn, share and connect with each other and the Earth whilst being able to experience the best in local and international film-making talent through animations, documentaries, comedies and experimental pieces which focus on environmental themes including, but not limited to, drought; sustainable agriculture, local wildlife, spirituality and music. A mere handful of the featured films include Zina Brown’s ‘Dreams of the last butterflies, Minea Herwitz’s ‘Crabbin” and Bill Shupp’s ‘The Watchers’, Ronnie Alman ‘Filter’, ‘Solar Furnace’,Kerry Laitala,  Ronnie Allman ‘Cross Country Impressions’, among others.

In an attempt to promote a sustainable and respectful relationship with  Earth, we will be exploring a range of pertinent environmental issues through variety of mediums which includes  speakers,  filmmakers, outdoor walks and classes/workshops.

Trough the exploration and discussion of such paramount issues, the themes and messages of these films are intended to represent and embody the urgency and solidarity with which we must act if we are to live a fulfilled and harmonious existence on this wonderful planet.

Throughout a week of Earth Day Film Festival show us a full calendar of activities in different venues in the city such as Roxie Theater.
