10 Characters 7 2011 Claire Bain annotThis interactive presentation introduces the ongoing performative social media fiction project called “The Nova Avon.” A cast of characters interact with real people on the internet to form a story that interweaves with true life. Come see videos, performances, and other media that tell stories of fictional people who navigate the internet as a model for interpersonal life. Watch an instant video and staged photos being made and uploaded onto this project. Participate by contributing ideas, create new characters, get behind or in front of the camera (or keyboard, pen, paintbrush). Join the social networks of these characters, reflect on your place in the network of real and virtual interaction, and have fun! Claire Bain and guest artists will be present to provide a thought-provoking and fun experience that will make you see your world differently! Join in, or sit back and wonder…
