Jouk Li Jou Photo Night: A fundraiser for Zanmi Lakay’s 3rd annual Youth Photo Camp in Haiti

Thursday, June 20, 2013, 7:00 pm, $10

We’re bringing the gang together for a night of Show & Tell! Find out what Jouk Li Jou Kan Foto is all about from the volunteers who made it happen. To understand what a few resources, time, and expertise can do to change and empower the lives of our talented Haitian students, join us in the shared stories, photographs, and experiences of the generous people who came to Haiti to work with them.

We’ll also be celebrating the work of our young photojournalism students from Cité Soleil and Jacmel by sharing their assignments from past Photo Camps. The 10-day Photo Camp was established to share the visual stories of daily life as photographed by Haitian youth and expanding the experience to include volunteer professional photographers working together in teams with photo students from different cities to benefit community. This event reflects their achievements, dignity, and enduring spirits as well as talent, learned skills, and creativity.
