Dirty Looks NYC presents: NYC QUEER SCREENING SERIES RETURNS TO THE WEST COAST WITH SF PREMIERE OF EAST VILLAGE DRAG VIDEOGRAPHER’S LOST TAPES

Associated with New York’s East Village drag scene of the late 1980s, Tom Rubnitz (1956-1992) crafted low-budget, candy-colored video fantasies, mingling pop culture and counter-culture in outlandish conceptions including mock infomercials and cooking shows, such as Strawberry Shortcut and the infamous Pickle Surprise. This evening’s program includes numerous, never-before seen works featuring performance luminaries like RuPaul, Ann Magnuson, Lady Bunny, and David Wojnarowicz, and is curated by Dirty Looks NYC, a traveling, New York- based queer experimental screening series.
