GAZE: Screening #2, Labor/Memorial

Saturday, August 25, 2012, 8:00 pm, $6

In our second showcase of local and international works by women filmmakers, GAZE presents a diverse collection of shorts that run the gamut from libidinal sorcery to deadpan melodrama.

Coming at the tail end of summer, Labor/Memorial includes a paean to the gendered dramas of home maintenance, and an occultist memorial that features the late great George Kuchar. We are excited to have many of the filmmakers in attendance this month, and can promise a lively Q and A along with an opportunity for the local filmmaking community to meet, conspire, and discuss our projects.

Program:

Waiting for Darryl, by Thalia Drori
Spectroscopy, by Leslie Supnet
Birthday, by Mari Okada
Leonora, by Eliane Lima
First, by Suzanne Oshinsky
Craig’s Cutting Room Floor, by Linda Scobie
Crying in Our Cars, by Isabelle Martin
