Paintings by Ariel Diaz

Thursday, August 12, 2010, 6:00 pm

Ariel Diaz’s large scale paintings draw on distant and imagined pop iconography, smudging together televisual, comic and food based images to create a whimsical take on the residues of childhood memories.  The combinations of seemingly incongruous word and image evoke distorted visions of the ice cream man, food stands at Coney Island, and family picnics.

Please join us for a closing reception in the ATA main gallery on Thursday, August 12, from 6-9pm.
