reception Wed, 12/1/04, 6-8pm

Organized by the University of San Francisco students of Professional Practices in the Arts (Fall 2004) this class-juried group exhibition consists of art work – ranging from music to painting – from Bay Area artists. As defined by Future Draftees, the goal of the exhibition is to promote free and open expression of the diverse Bay Area community on issues of gender, cultural, sexual and social identity, with a particular focus on youth. Beyond free expression, the exhibition seeks to set an example for change — cultural, social, or political.  Due to the inevitable identity changes that youth experience in their college years, the young adult population has artistic social commentary to voice, but has been silenced by a general lack of resources to express themselves.  It is time to see our Bay Area and USF youth community act as a catalyst for change.
