ATA’s openscreening is the only monthly open submissions screening in the Bay Area. Get your work out there! Get feedback! Or just come and take it all in! One hour of shorts are accepted monthly on an open revolving basis, anything goes with the screened work, and the refreshments are pretty good too.

*Cabin Fever* (Dir. de Sade, 2010)
This short film is a reenactment of the crowded cabin scene from the Marx Brothers’ *A Night at the Opera*. This scene can be seen as metonymic of the figures position as constructing the landscape, while being unsustainable within the landscape. A comedic conceit drives more and more figures into the space of the cabin, delineating it as a place with a function, while simultaneously making this place unusable for its purpose. The narrative conclusion is that these figures must then be expelled in order for the claimed place to exist as such. In this the function of the place is changed to that of a joke.
