Artists' Television Access

International Transentient Cartographicacy Project (ITCP)

Benefit Party

Thursday, January 1, 1970, 12:00 am, $5 admission to support the artists

Join us in a celebration of art and culture in support of a new project by local artists Kathleen Quillian and Gilbert Guerrero. Extending across international borders, the International Transentient Cartographicacy Project aims to explore both the traditional and urban cultures of Mexico City and Dublin, Ireland through interactive conceptual map-making, personal experience and video. The project is scheduled to be presented as an official selection in the 2004 James Joyce Festival in Dublin, Ireland.

This cross-cultural art party benefit extravaganza will help kick off the next big phase of the project.  From 4-10pm at Artists’ Television Access we will be offering some of the most festive aspects from Mexican and Irish culture in one big zany package including piñatas, dart games, food, lots of Guinness and Corona and a dj (Norman Long) spinning everything from traditional to contemporary Irish and Mexican tunes.  There will also be interactive exhibits to animate some of the ideas from the project, and a raffle! Some of the prizes we’re giving away in the raffle include a

$100 membership to Cinematheque, free rentals at Leather Tongue Video, music from local record label ZUM, tons of free passes to Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and AMC movie tickets, a t-shirt from Otsu Vegan Style.

Local Mission conjuntos Max y Teo , will be performing from 8-9pm. Also, an appearance by the Tamale Lady herself!
